Why Do FE Galvanized Trailers Look So Great?
A proper trailer begins with a stiff and strong frame. We exclusively use box tube steel for the fabrication of our trailer frames. Box Tube Steel is stronger for its weight and far stiffer because it is four sided, not two or three sided. All our frames are fully welded. A fully welded frame is stronger than a bolted together frame. The shape of Box Tube Steel has a more finished appearance. All the highest end trailers use it. It also has a smoother surface and thus coats much better.
If you "have to have a painted" trailer, at least get one that is powder coated. We first sandblast the frame and parts for best adhesion. More material is applied dry for more protection. It is then placed in a 400 degree oven for a smooth and hard finish. Our galvanized trailers are first cleaned by a hot alkaline solution and then given an acid bath to remove rust and scale. It is next immersed in liquid flux to remove oxides and then is dipped in molten zinc at 850 degrees. In order to become immersed, the box tube steel has openings. These openings permit coating both on the inside and on the outside of the tube. THE GALVANIZED TRAILER THAT LOOKS GREAT! Once galvanized, the trailer is lightly sandblasted and then powder coated. This combines the rust proof galvanized coating with the durable Powder Coat finish. This process actually extends the useful life of a galvanized trailer by years.
Our company was founded by avid end users of the trailer products we offer. Over the years, our designs and manufacturing techniques have been refined to better serve the needs of the end user. We have full time engineering employing the latest computer technologies. We operate at the leading edge of trailer design, quality & looks. We are proud to offer our optional "GalCoat" finish to our complete line of trailers. The combined rust resitance of the galvanized coating with the beauty of a powder coated finish creates the longest-lasting trailer in the business. FE Trailers are manufactured from the highest grade tubular (box) steel. This material is lighter, stronger and smoother than channel or angle steel. This allows for better coating. Once the frame is completely welded and inspected, it is ready fo the coating process. The following steps are applied:
